Can Dogs Eat Kraft Peanut Butter?

The healthiest choice is unsalted nutty spread or homemade peanut butter, as high sodium levels can be hazardous for dogs, and as an added bonus, homemade peanut butter does not contain extra sugar and other additives. Most peanut spread is safe, yet some can be deadly. Recently, some peanut butter manufacturers changed to using the sweetener xylitol. Xylitol is a sugar substitute regularly found in sugar-free products like toothpaste, chewing gum, breath mints, chewable vitamins, and baked goods. It is safe for people, however harmful to dogs. Xylitol poisoning is easy to prevent. Owners should simply check the name of the peanut butter spread and some other item they plan on nourishing to their dogs for xylitol and keep xylitol items out of their dog’s reached.
